About Maria

Hi everyone! 

Welcome to Concept Pilates.

I’m Maria.  

I am a fully qualified Body Control Pilates instructor, a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs), a member of the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA) and I am bound by their respective Code of Practice.

For the past 15 years, I’ve experienced the benefits of Pilates for my posture, flexibility, strength and alignment.

It became my passion and I decided to share it with others and went on to train.

I’m passionate about movement and healthy lifestyle and how these impact our life. I like helping my clients discover their strength in challenging Pilates classes.

My classes are friendly, enjoyable and energizing, so my clients are motivated to achieve their goals.

I strongly believe Pilates is an intelligent way to exercise which can suit everyone. My aim as a teacher is to help people to move in a healthy and efficient manner, to be more flexible and to reduce pains.

I regularly attend workshops to keep my teaching fresh and varied.

Why Pilates?

Pilates is a full body workout that tones, strengthens, and lengthens muscles, while continuously working the core. 
Pilates is suitable for a wide range of people, from beginners to professionals.
Pilates helps to reshape your body, which will become longer, leaner and more toned.
It will also improve your posture, help to achieve the perfect balance between strength and flexibility, and it is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension.

What I Do

Private Classes

Private Pilates are best for those looking to get personalized attention from instructor.
I offer both one-to-one sessions as well as duet sessions for you and a partner.
These classes take place at your home, work or venue of choice and all equipment is provided.
An advantage of private sessions is that the client receives individualized cues, alignment corrections and feedback from me.
Every client is given an initial assessment, in which one’s strengths and weaknesses, exercise and health history and injury status are addressed.

Mat Pilates

I offer Matwork Pilates for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. It is a dynamic total body workout class which is based on classical Pilates exercises.

You’ll strengthen your core, tone your hips, improve your alignment and flatten your abs.

Before the first session, I will ask you to complete an enrolment form, where you provide details of any injuries and conditions so that I can ensure that you exercise safely.

I work to a small group class size so that you can have close supervision and support from me.

If you have never done Pilates before, I highly recommend taking 2-4 private sessions before joining any group classes.
